As President and CEO of Cortex, Joel provides overall corporate leadership and strategic vision, with a focus on advancing the development of service offerings, new market expansion, and managing key client relationships.
Joel came onboard in 2015 to lead the company’s continued growth as an international e-invoicing player, bringing with him more than 25 years of leadership experience within technology companies in both Canada and the United States. Joel’s tenacity and drive fuel his relentless passion for empowering a brilliant idea, taking it to market, and seeing industries and businesses change as a result. Prior to joining Cortex, Joel served as the President of Scancode, a Toronto-based software company that was acquired by Descartes Systems Group in 2009.
As head of the Finance, Accounting and Human Resource teams, Sandra is directly responsible for leading the individuals that manage every aspect of Cortex’s financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
Sandra joined the Cortex team in 2005, dedicating herself to providing the expertise and leadership needed to provide foundational stability and forward momentum to the group. She holds a CPA, CGA designation, and has worked previously in public accounting firms as well as providing financial statement and tax consulting services to a wide variety of Companies.
As the VP of Client Services, Darryl is responsible for lifecycle management from new client sign up, to solution implementation, project management, customer training, account and relationship provisioning, to ongoing care and support.
Darryl has been with Cortex since September 2012, and has advanced from directing the Customer Provisioning, Training, Support and Portal line of business teams into his current role. The Client Services teams include: Client Implementation and Project Management, Client Enablement and Order Desk, and Customer Training and Support. Darryl and his Client Services team are focused on streamlining processes and performance for operational efficiency. This ensures that the day-to-day operations support the growth and objectives of the company, positioning the organization for success in a rapidly evolving industry.
Elena is responsible for developing and securing strategic partnerships with companies and industry associations that complement and enable the sale of our Cortex platform, and provide extended benefits for our customers. In this role, Elena supports the company’s growth and expansion into a powerful international e-invoicing player.
Prior to joining Cortex, Elena worked with Fortune 500 companies in the Energy, Automotive and Manufacturing sectors. She successfully founded and marketed Oil and Gas software company Caledonia Solutions. Caledonia was a finalist in the 2015 Oil and Gas Awards, and a game changer in the conversion of a paper based industry to an online solution. She brings to the Cortex team over fifteen years’ experience in sales, enterprise business development, and consulting in supply chain, operations, and regulatory compliance.
As VP of Sales & Business Development for Cortex, John is responsible for the development and execution our corporate revenue goals and objectives. John is passionate in market opportunity identification and managing our global sales efforts, with long term growth, profitability and customer centric outcomes as priorities.
John joined Cortex in 2016 as an accomplished and results-driven senior management executive. From previous roles at SAP, DrillingInfo, Oildex, and Ceridian. John is recognized as a leader and motivator with immense energy that consistently builds high performance teams. His experience in enterprise level software sales and market execution, make him a great asset to the Cortex team.
Henry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial control at Cortex. He is charged with the management of internal and external accounting, financial reporting, and financial planning and analysis.
Since joining Cortex in 2014, Henry has been an integral leader of the finance team in supporting the Company’s overall corporate strategy. Previously, Henry spent seven years working as a Manager in a wide range of audit management and tax compliance services roles at PwC LLP.
Owen Temple is the director of Technical Solutions, providing support and guidance to the Sales and Delivery teams to ensure we offer the best solution to our clients’ automation needs. He joined the company in 2008, and is an expert in the features and functionality of the Cortex application. His role matches the capabilities of Cortex to the customer’s business needs to ensure a sustainable, successful partnership.
Owen has over 25 years’ experience with the supply chain management process for the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, managing the logistics of several large facility projects, including the procurement and inventory of the Canadian distribution business unit of a global oilfield supply company. He spent 12 of his years in supply chain management specifically on the implementation of SAP within the oil, gas, and utility industries.
Andrew is responsible for all activity related to Cortex’s position and reputation in the marketplace. He manages the Marketing and Product Management teams, ensuring a strong go-to-market strategy that strengthens the corporate brand and relationship with the investor community.
Joining Cortex in 2013, Andrew has been key in developing the company’s overall corporate strategy to support revenue growth and key partnerships. In his role, he manages all corporate communications, marketing plans, media relations activity, Investor Relations communication and relationships, and budgets. Previously, Andrew has worked with some of the industry’s biggest telecom players in a variety of marketing and business development roles, responsible for global marketing for both B2C and B2B customers.
Chris Lambert is the VP of Technology at Cortex, leading and guiding the evolution of our world-class product suite.
Chris has extensive experience in software and application development, people and project management, and a passion for finding intelligent and efficient solutions to complex challenges. This allows him to confidently oversee the advancement of our electronic invoicing solution. Chris is responsible for the advancement of our core product, including all staffing and technology decisions related to it. He knows how to motivate a team, and set them up for shared success by developing the right strategies, streamlining processes, allocating resources, and problem solving to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget. He is currently focused on enhancing DevOps, Software Development and an Agile PMO.
Previously, Chris’s career has included work in many sectors, including Oil & Gas, Advertising, Medical, and Technology.
